- Scene 1 Katsumoto: This is my son's village. We are deep in the mountain as the winter is coming. You cannot escape. Nobutada: Jolly good. (leaving very cool) - Scene 2 - Discussion between Katsumoto, Ujio and Nobutada at the temple. (Shin was in his usual dark grayish blue robe (how do u call that robe?) with his samurai sword on his left) Ujio: My Lord, why do you spare the barbarian? He is shamed in defeat. He should kill himself. Katsumoto: That is not their custom. Ujio: Then¡ I will kill him. Nobutada: Father¡ I don't think¡ (looking worried, then backed off) Katsumoto: Ujio¡ there will be plenty of killing to come. For now, we will learn about our new enemy. Keep him alive. Nobutada paying a visit to Cpt Algren at Taka's home. (Shin was in his usual robe) Nobutada: He's in bad shape. Cpt Algren: Sake¡ Nobutada: (Laughed lightly) Sake? (laughed louder) Cpt Algren: Sake¡ Nobutada nodded to Taka as a permission to bring Cpt Algren the Japanese wine. Taka went to fetch the wine.Cpt Algren: Sake¡ Nobutada: Taka will take care of you. - Scene 4 - Cpt Algren asking for more sake. Nobutada: Let him drink, Aunt. Taka: No, that will not do. Nobutada: This is my village. Taka: This is my house. - Scene 5 - Nobutada rushing in Taka's house and pulled Cpt Algren out to meet his father. Nobutada: Over there. Over there! Go¡ you¡ go. - Scene 6 - Nobutada walking Cpt Algren back to Taka's house after meeting Katsumoto and watching Higean fighting another friend (practicing) with the bokken. Cpt Algren: Nicely done. Nobutada: They may be children, but they are strong. You try. Try. (Smiling confidently) - Scene 7 - Nobutada practicing his archery in the field (looking calm). (Shin in his robe with his left arm out of the robe) - Scene 8 - Cpt Algren trying to practise with bokken for the first time and was beaten again and again. Nobutada: (Rushing in) Please forgive me. (??) Too many mind. Cpt Algren: Too many mind? Nobutada: Hai. Mind the sword, mind the people watch, mind the enemy. Too many mind. No mind. (Rushing out) Cpt Algren: No mind. Nobutada laughed with Higean when Cpt Algren climbed on top of his opponent. Dinner at Taka's home. Cpt Algren: Domo arigatou. Okawari. (Thank you. More rice?) Nobutada: (Laughing surprised) Taka. He can speak Japanese! Eat a lot. Don't be polite. Cpt Algren: Not so fast. What are¡ what are these? Nobutada: Hashi (chopstick) Cpt Algren: Hashi? Nobutada: Hai! Hai, hashi! (excitedly) HashiHigean: How can he understand? Nobutada: Hai, hashi. (smiling) Cpt Algren: Hashi Magujiro: Hana (nose) Nobutada: (Showing his top knot) Mage. Mage. Cpt Algren: Mage? Magujiro: Mimi. Mimi. (ear) Nobutada: Cawan (bowl) Cpt Algren: No no. Not so fast. Namae Algren. Algren. Nobutada: Alu-gulen. Magujiro: Alugulen. Nobutada: (Laughed) Alugulen! Higean: Alugulen. Nobutada: Hai, Alugulen. Cpt Algren: Alugulen. Nobutada: Alugulen, alugulen. (Pointing and introducing himself) Nobutada. Cpt Algren: Nobutada Nobutada: Magujiro Cpt Algren: Magujiro Nobutada: Higean Cpt Algren: Higean. Taka. - Scene 10 - While watching Cpt Algren practicing bokken. Nobutada: He is improving, no? *Samurai*: But still so ugly. - Scene 11 - Leaving the village, Nobutada was riding on his father's left side in his light blue robe to sent Cpt Algren back to the Emperor. Nobutada was stopped by 2 policemen in the city and was forced to give them his sword. He refused and showed no feeling as the policemen threatened to shoot him. Cpt Algren stopped them and was beaten. Nobutada was drawing out his sword in a ready position when Cpt Algren stopped him. Nobutada obeyed and stood up. He was then forced to kneel by the policemen. His sword was taken and top-knot chopped off. Nobutada: Noooooooooooooo¡¡¡¡! (tears dripping) Nobutada was kicked to the ground. He sat up sadly. Cpt Algren: I'll take you home. Nobutada: Jolly good. - Scene 12 - Cpt Algren, Mr Glenn and Ujio went to persuade Katsumoto to escape. Nobutada appeared with the other samurais to protect them at the bridge. Nobutada: Go (covering the rest of the people) Nobutada was the last one to leave the bridge. Nobutada: Ahh!! Katsumoto turned back and saw his son was shot by one of the gunmen. He wanted to save him but was stopped by Ujio. Ujio: My Lord. My Lord, no! Katsumoto: Nobutada! As Nobutada kept crawling, Cpt Algren thought urgently looking at the gunmen and Nobutada at the bridge. He then ran very fast risking his life to fetch his friend, Nobutada and managed pulled him so safety. As Katsumoto held Nobutada, leaning on the tree. He was hurt badly. Nobutada: (Coughing) Father, let me stay. It is my time. Ujio: My Lord¡ we must go. Katsumoto and Nobutada exchanged one last look. With tears in the father's eyes, Katsumoto cannot do anything but left.Nobutada took a deep breath and walked out calmly shooting with his sword. The used his last energy to draw out his sword bravely and charged forward at the gunmen. The gunmen pulled their triggers and shoot at Nobutada. Nobutada fell on his knee and died. |
